Down from the mountain
I’m sending this message from the back of a pick up truck on the way to Bishop. The post office won’t be open until Monday so we’re taking the time to go to a bigger town to get Andy new shoes. We have some great pics and video to upload. We saw our first bears this morning!

I assume since you are posting that at least this time you RAN AWAY from the scary noises….
No scary noises. Just two big black bears munching on plants when we rounded a corner. I was a little nervous, but they were below us. They looked up and saw us and just continued munching.
Happy Birthday by the way. I was going to call you yesterday but my new phone doesn’t have most of my contacts since I didn’t have the old one with me to transfer from. I was half way through a birthday email to you when the ancient behemoth computer at the Holiday Inn Express here in Bishop crashed.
I hope your pizza party was a blast.
Yes it was cool, We had massive flooding here on Friday Donna and Wayne’s house across the street flooded into their living room and both of their kids rooms… So yesterday was spent trying to find blowers and carpet cleaners to clean up the mess… Then The pizza party was perfect because by the end of the day no one wanted to cook…

I hope you remember us but we were the asian family you guys encountered on you way down from Kearsage. This is Thecla, the daughter, speaking and my uncle Domonic has the pictures of us so I will try to send the pictures over to you as soon as my uncle gives them to me. My mom now wants to walk the 2650 trail and its all thanks to you…(but I doubt she’ll actually do it). Anyways, knowing that people like you are out there doing amazing things will hopefully inspire others to do the same(just like my mother). We pray for your safety and we’ll be checking up on you guys once in a while so don’t forget to post new stuff.
